When it comes to installing solar panels their are a lot of questions you need to ask yourself. We aim to answer all of your questions in this three-part series, starting with whether they are a good fit into your lifestyle or not.
What is installation like?
It all starts with a a site survey, which we do for FREE. This will look at what the best location would be for an array. The survey looks at data from your area for average sunshine. Remember that that array needs Sun to produce power. That means a southern exposure that is unobstructed by trees or other objects.
Know how much power you are currently using – look at your power bills for the last year. How much of that do you want to offset?
Then, we figure out the best location?
Ground mounted systems are wonderful if you have the location. Easy to maintain and keep clean. Roof mounted systems should be installed on a newer roof; a south facing roof is preferred.
How long does it take to install an array once we say go?
It could take several months. All components must be ordered and received. It takes up to 8 weeks to get batteries in as they are made when ordered. The install in also dependent on the site work needed to prepare the spot the array will be installed. And then there is the weather that none of us can control.
The key is patience. You want it installed properly the first time.
